About Me

I’m a postdoc researcher in the User Interfaces group at Aalto University in Helsinki, Finland. The group is headed by Antti Oulasvirta. I’ve worked here since October 2014. Before that I completed my Ph.D. at the University of Glasgow, supervised by Simon Rogers in Rod Murray-Smith’s IDI group.

I have a background in mathematics and machine learning, and I’m very interested in how to apply knowledge and techniques from those fields in HCI. With the processing power of mobile devices increasing all the time, we are reaching the point where our devices can think probabilistically about the world around us in real time, and I think that prospect is quite exciting.

Outside of work, I enjoy climbing, video games and Magic: the Gathering.
